You Can't Make This Stuff Up

Once again, Cryptogon.com comes through with a couple of items in a row which just beg for the comments of Rene Guenon; please review The Reign of Quantity and the Signs of the Times.

Specifically, "The Great Parody, or Spirituality Inverted" :

Via: Technofascism Blog:

A new prophet, Jason Silva, joins the ranks of Ray Kurzweil as evangelist for the emerging Singularity techno-religion.

In his new film, “Turning Into Gods”, Mr. Silva promotes the central tenet of this new cult: that all of us will one day become all-powerful deities, that will play with genes and atoms like circus clowns juggling balls. And, it is only our old-fashioned, superstitious notion of what it means to be human, that is holding us back from an eternal techno-utopia; in which, we will finally assume our pre-ordained role as a Divine Programmer.

Sound ludicrous? Well, Mr. Silva is definitely not alone with his unsettling hopes for the future. If you’re not familiar with the relatively new Singularity religion, you might also want to take a gander at Kurzweil’s “Age of Spiritual Machines” or Eric Drexler’s “Engines of Creation.” In those books, the authors not only spell out a vision of the future that would make any sane person’s hair stand on end; they believe a future spent locked into a virtual-reality vault is our inevitable destiny.

And then "Fissures in the Great Wall":

Via: Market Ticket:

Yes, I expected the game to end in 2009. I did not believe that our government could sell a net $1.5 trillion of new issuance (debt) for more than a year or so, nor could they roll over some $600 billion every month to keep the Ponzi going for long. They got away with it for two years, one more than I thought they would, but now cracks are appearing in this facade globally, not just here in the US.

The “powers that be” have done a fine job of trying to give the appearance of solvency. But you can’t create solvency where it doesn’t exist, and appearances don’t last forever. We are now in the phase of this mess where recognition of the Ponziconomy of the 2000s is showing up not in bank stocks (bad) but in nations (ruinous.)

It's often overlooked, or deliberately suppressed, that Guenon is hardly a "pessimist" but rather an optimist, to the extent that such crude terms are appropriate at all. For indeed,

"The end of a world never is and can never be anything but the end of an illusion."

I've kept my eye on the philosophy of Transhumanism for a while. It's implicit in the 'metanarrative' of modern science; the logic demands that humans commandeer their 'evolution' and steer themselves towards immortality. As far as I know this logic was first noted by C.S. Lewis in one of his essays (I forget the name) as well as in his Cosmic Trilogy (worth reading). As you say, transhumanism is an inversion of Traditional doctrine. Lewis, again in his Cosmic Trilogy, locates transhumanism in the very nexus of what Guenon called the Counter Initiation. There's a good blog called 'Vigilant Citizen' which documents some of the operations of the Counter Initiation inside pop culture, including its transhuman agenda.

As to the second article, have you read the report by Sprott? If not, here: http://www.runtogold.com/images/Sprott-Ponzi.pdf

Thanks for the push to Vigilant Citizen.

I wrote a rather jenune post about Lady Gaga and The Prisoner which can't compare to his, and in fact I think I swiped a photo or two from him. Seems to be rather like Michael Hoffman but minus the Bible-thumping; I must spend the rest of my weekend drilling down into his site.

James Bowery, who blogs at Majority Rights and was a programmer in Silicon Valley in the 90s, said that entrepreneurs peddling virtual reality ideas and tech never got much interest from the tech industry itself but piqued the interest of big time Jewish Hollywood types and investors. He said one guy who especially got keen interest from some Hollywood Jews had the idea for these virtual reality coffin type contraptions that users would be submerged in, "The Matrix"-like.

It's quite obvious why these Jews would be so interested in technology such as this. And it's chilling to think about this kind of technology under their control, considering what they've been able to pull off with previous social control technologies such as print media (the Bible), churches, TV, film, mass media, etc.

"Seems to be rather like Michael Hoffman but minus the Bible-thumping". Yes exactly. VC knows that 'the occult' is not necessarily Satanic. The whole site is worth a look. PS I may be ordering some dehydrated food through your link there; I heard tell there's a famine in the works.

Larry,

Yes, I'll have to drill down the VC site to get up to date. And hope you find something tasty at the ReadyStore!
